Just like buying from new, there are pros and cons to buying a refurbished computer. There’s a big difference between a computer refurbished the correct way and a device refurbished the wrong way. So we recommend that you do your research and only shop with reputable sellers. At PC Renewed, all of our refurbished computers meet Grade A standards so you’re in safe hands. The refurbished route is a good one to take if you’re looking for a quality device for a fraction of the price. Refurbished computers work just as well as new computers. But bear in mind that they’ll have a marginally shorter lifespan since they’ve already been used. We’re happy to help you decide if a refurbished computer is right for you - give us a call on 02476 460069 today.

A used computer has simply been used before it’s sold. So you would never know if it’s defective or not until you take it home and switch it on. Whereas refurbished computers have been used but undergo thorough procedures before they’re sold. Technicians will inspect the PC, carry out any repairs, then restore it to factory settings. These devices feel just like new so rest assured you won’t face any hidden problems.

Refurbished laptops can be just as secure and efficient as a brand new laptop, but at a fraction of the cost. As long as you buy from a reputable and trustworthy seller, you will receive a high-quality device at a significantly lower price.

Yes, it is safe to buy a refurbished computer and your purchase will be covered with our standard one year warranty. This warranty covers hardware faults in the first 12 months; simply return your device to us and we will either repair or replace it. Although we cannot provide a warranty for software issues as a result of corruption or malware, we take preventative measures. We install a recovery partition onto your refurbished computer to give your software the best chance against faults.

In many cases, it’s possible to upgrade certain gaming laptop components like RAM and storage (HDD and SSD) on a reconditioned gaming laptop, exactly like you can on a usual laptop. CPU and GPU upgrades are not overly common and not always feasible in laptops, so it’s always best to check the specifications and upgradability before purchasing.

Gaming capabilities of any laptop depend on its original specifications, not just the refurbished status. A gaming laptop that has been refurbished should still have a powerful processor, dedicated graphics card, and sufficient RAM to run modern games, but check the compatibility of the game with the laptop before making a purchase.

Buying a refurbished gaming laptop can be a safe and good option to save a bit of money, but it’s highly dependent on the seller. As long as you purchase the laptop from a reputable seller, you can be sure the laptop has undergone thorough testing, repairs, and cleaning.
